Heather + Asen | Nanga Bush Camp Wedding WA
Zolotas Australia Bride Heather marries Asen at the beautiful Nanga Bush Camp gowned by Zolotas located in Subiaco, WA.
“We both attended the University of Notre
Dame and I recall walking out of the canteen area and a tall red headed guy opening the door for me. Asen remembers my accent as I thanked him. A few weeks later we officially met through mutual friends.” Heather tells.
The Proposal: Asen had asked my dad for my grandmother’s ring and was waiting for the ‘perfect
moment’. I was feeling very off with morning
sickness and climbed into our car. Asen
began fumbling with something under my
chair and I told him to just drive home and
look for it later because I was very nauseas.
After more of my nagging, he managed to
find the ring he had hidden under my seat
and proposed!
The venue: We knew we wanted a bush setting as we
both love camping and nature. Neither of us had been to Nanga Bush Camp before, but
upon viewing the incredible scenery and the bunk houses where everyone could stay the night, we knew could stop looking for any
other venue. Although neither of us are
massive Star Warsfans (sorry!) we got
married on May 4,
2019 and the weather was absolutely perfect.
What advice would you give to a bride who is now starting to plan her wedding?
Enjoy the day. It really does go by too fast so make sure you aren’t stressing about
anything and have fun with all your favorite
people.
Your Zolotas Bridal expperience: I randomly came across Zolotas Australia
while scouring the internet for wedding
dresses. They had the exact sort of dress that I wanted:
unique and ethereal. Zolotas’ attention to
detail in their lacework and design is a true
art which I found most other places just did
not stand up to. When Sophie called me to
tell me I won their competition for a wedding dress I burst into tears! Over two sessions
with my favorite people, I finally decided on Enyo.
I loved the detailing in the thick lace and the beautiful tulle skirt. Enyo has this incredible
illusion front which I found so fun and a
stunning low back. On top of all that, it was
comfortable! My veil from Zolotas was
cathedral length with lace edging that
matched the lace from my dress. Putting on
the veil made me feel like the bridal look was complete. “The Zolotas dress set the
bohemian feel of the wedding and we used
deep jewel tones and native florals to
complete the look.
Which flowers did you choose for your
wedding bouquet and decoration
arrangement?
Our florist was incredible in styling the bright native flowers we wanted. Being in the Australian bush, we wanted to keep that feel and added beautiful and bright colors.
How would you describe your Atelier Zolotas experience? Between their generosity and friendly natures, I had the wedding dress experience that every girl dreams of. Every meeting with Sophie and her mother was relaxing and fun. It was nearly impossible to choose a dress as they are truly all so beautiful, but Sophie really knows what dresses will appeal and flatter her brides the best. One common complaint I’ve heard from other brides is that they felt rushed in their appointments and that they did not feel that trying on wedding dresses was as glamorous as they imagined. I had two long appointments with Sophie where I tried on every single dress and had Sophie to myself, supporting me the entire time with helpful feedback. I took an entourage of loved ones each time and we were all given champagne and every one of them still tells me about how enjoyable they found the experience.
